Ambassador (r) Sibte Yahya Naqvi has thirty five years distinguished career in diplomacy. He was Pakistan’s Ambassador to The Netherlands and Syria and Permanent Representative a number of United Nations ( UN) and International organizations. In addition, he served on Diplomatic Assignments in Indonesia, Portugal, Romania and Libya. In between, he had postings as Director and Director General at the Minstry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. He also served as senior member Faculty of National Defence University, Islamabad. He also served as Special Consultant to a UN Organization- Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons ( OPCW). He was awarded the highest national award of Syria” Order of Merit – Darja-e-Ula” by President Bashar Al Assad.
Amb(r) Sibte Yahya has special interest in the field of education. He built a State-of-the-Art International School in Damascus-the biggest in Syria. He also established, with the help of Pakistan Ministry of Science and Technology, an IT Institute in Damascus.
He helped in financing the construction of Shahwilayat Public Schools (Campus-I & Campus-II)in Karachi. In addition, he is author of two books-“ Jo Hum Peh Guzri” (Urdu), & “ Inside Diplomacy” (English).
After retirement he is pursuing his passion for philanthropic work as Chairman Anjuman Sadate Amroha, Canada. He always tried to serve his community. He has successfully established the links between the members of Anjuman Sadate Amroha in Toronto, Karachi & Amroha. He is permanently residing in Mississauga, Canada.
