Mr. Hasan Hadi Naqvi: A Legacy of Dedication and Community Building

Early Life and Migration:

Mr. Hasan Hadi Naqvi was born in February 1931 and witnessed the tumult of the partition, which led to his migration to Pakistan. Leaving behind all he had in India, he navigated the hardships of displacement like many others, facing significant challenges as he worked diligently to establish a stable life while also supporting his siblings.

Career Path:

Mr. Naqvi began his educational journey while juggling various jobs, eventually finding a position as an accountant. His career took a significant turn when he secured a job at EMI in Karachi, where he excelled in the finance division. His hard work and determination propelled him to the role of a top executive within the company.

Entrepreneurial Ventures:

His entrepreneurial spirit shone through when he joined forces with Rashid Latif of Polka Ice Cream to establish the Shalimar Recording Company. This partnership required a relocation to Islamabad with his family. As one of the founders, Mr. Naqvi played a vital role in building the company from the ground up, first serving as Finance Director and later taking the helm as CEO. His strategic insights and problem-solving abilities earned him respect within the corporation, with Rashid Latif recognizing him as one of the most astute individuals in the business.

Community Engagement in Karachi:

Returning to Karachi in the early 80’s for a few years. Mr. Naqvi became an active member of Anjuman e Sadaat e Amroha, Karachi, Pakistan. His involvement was marked by his role on the executive committee, where he contributed significantly as a treasurer and a leader, helping to grow and strengthen the organization during his tenure.

Later Life and Contributions in Canada:

In 1993, Mr. Naqvi took early retirement and moved to Canada, where he dedicated his efforts to creating the Sadat e Amroha family global tree on the internet, an impressive and invaluable achievement. In 2005, he founded Anjuman e Sadat e Amroha Canada, starting with just a few families as the president, and held their first annual dinner with renowned Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Siddiqui, (noted scholar of Urdu literature, educationist, literary critic and a well- known columnist). His commitment to community service facilitated the group’s growth to over 200 families today. Under his guidance, the organization has been successfully organizing four annual events: an annual dinner, a community picnic, a Majlis, and an Iftar party, all of which play a crucial role in fostering community spirit and unity. He was later named the lifetime Chairman of Anjuman e Sadat e Amroha Canada (ASAC) for his part as the founder official as well as his contributions for all the hard work and dedication towards building his community in Canada.

Legacy:

Mr. Hasan Hadi Naqvi passed away on June 23rd, 2018. His legacy continues through his three daughters and two sons, who are committed to upholding the values he championed and furthering the community initiatives he pioneered. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
